Kelly Jolkowski brought this medium to our attention, and we've been e-mailing back and forth. As far as we know, she doesn't have any knowledge of the SAPS site, though that could change any time. Visit Beth here: http://www.bengleman.com/ (we can no longer find her psychic information on her site).

Hi, my name is Alison and my uncle has been missing for sixteen years. I've contacted a medium about the case before, but they weren't very helpful. This time, before I get deeply involved, I'd like to know if you've helped out law enforcement on any cases before, and if you are able to give details of those cases.

Thanks,
Alison

Allison:

I have been helping law enforcement throughout the US for twenty years. Most of the cases involve missing persons which is the hardest of all crimes to solve. I do tracking, which means that I go to the last location on a map a person was known to be and then trace the psychic trail left behind. When cases go cold, success rates are very low......there is usually not much to lock onto at this point.

I also do After Life Contact and try to gain information from the victim. This is usually more successful and information obtained can then be turned over to law enforcement, a lawyer or to a PI. I work with all three because each has an important function.

I do all of my consultation work in person in Corpus Christi, TX. I do not do readings by e-mail or on the phone. My one hour fee is $45.

If you would like to send me details of your case, I would be happy to look at the information and give you a quick read. There would be no charge for this.

Beth,

Can you give me any information about particular cases you've worked on? I always like to hear the story before getting too far in, because when it turns out someone can't really help you after all, it's pretty depressing.

What information do you need for a quick read?

Thanks again,
Alison

Alison:

I work missing persons with law enforcement agencies. None of the cases are high profile and the success rate has been very low.

When a psychic gets involved in a cold case, the chances of finding any additional information is next to impossible. That is why you have had such disappointing results from the psychics you have contacted.

What I need from you is this, your uncle's name, when he was last seen, where he was last seen, his birth date, and what you think happened.

Beth,

Is it with CCPD?

My uncle's name is Duane. He was last seen at his apartment in Houston in 1989. His birth date is 6/25/1945.

I think he is either homeless or dead.

Thanks again for all your help,
Alison

Alison:

My initial read on this is the Duane had a strong need to leave Houston. There is a relationship here to the port, shipping and the ship channel there in Houston.

As for is he still alive? If he was, he would have tried to contact his family long ago or at sent a message. This is why I think that he is no longer living.

The name Kimberly comes in strong here.

Beth,

This is what I don't understand about medium readings... there's never much to take to law enforcement agencies. They would find it hard, I imagine, to run down every Kimberly out there.

Let me know if you happen to get anything else.

Thanks again,
Alison

Allison:

Not having a body or proof that any crime was committed is next to impossible to pursue. Not even a good psychic can overcome an obstacle like this. This is why you have had such disappointing results.

Any information at this point without proof can not be turned over to law enforcement. They simply won't work with it.

Good luck on your search.

Beth,

I'm not sure that I understand. Why does there have to be a body or a crime in order for a psychic to be able to find someone? If they're a missing person, then clearly there would be no body, or if there was, no one would know where it was - otherwise they wouldn't be missing.

Allison:

I understand what you are trying to say here.....

Psychics can pick up certain information about a missing person, but none of it is is so exact to be helpful to law enforcement to work with.

What I see is that Duane had a strong need to leave the area, there was a woman involved named Kimberley. He was last seen alive near the ship channel in Houston the night he disappeared and he is no longer living. At this point in time, there is no remains to be found. The woman Kimberley who we don't know who she is knows what happened to him and who also was responsible for his death.

As you can tell, this information is really no help whatsoever.

UPDATE, 3/29/2007:

Allison:

I recently visited your website and saw the e-mail correspondences we shared. What a joke on me! I get bogus letters weekly and can usually sort them out, but yours were so strange that I thought they HAD to be real. No one could fake being that stupid.

What fascinates me is that even though Duane is not your uncle and your story was fabricated, there REALLY is a man named Duane who has been missing for about 16 years from the Houston area with the birth date of 6/25/1945. His name is Duane Carver Brown.

Your lack of having a relationship with this man is irrelevant. My "read" on his disappearance is still appropriate and should be noted.

Beth Engleman

Beth,

Welcome to the site, and I'm glad you found it.

I'm not sure what part you are confused about. The entire scenario given to you within the e-mail is absolutely true.

My uncle is really Duane Maney. He really has been missing since 1989. His birth date really is 6/25/45. I'm not sure which part was stupid, but I'm glad to know that you actually go in and search for missing persons information... using "hot reading" rather than "cold reading". I'm sure visitors to the site will be interested to know that.

I'm not really surprised that you were unable to find information on the actual Duane Maney. If you read the other sections under the "Mediums" heading within the site and hear his story, you'll see why.

Yes, your contribution should be noted - an utter failure to give any information of any value whatsoever to the case.

Thanks for trying, all the same. It was money well-spent.
